In this position, the senior developer will have .
NET experience and will work in JIRA/AZURE DevOPS to provide configuration and changes, manage test plans and execution, and show all requirements, changes, and test results in JIRA/Azure DevOPS to show evidence of code and test coverage of VA requirements.
Additionally, the dev will assist in product backlog support for VBECS product.
Must live within the 90 mile radius of Hines, IL to be onsite at the Hines Office of Information Field Office (OIFO) as needed.
Position Responsibilities: • Assist in capturing business requirements and success criteria for SaaS migration • Attend all meetings to capture change requests and provide inputs when required • Work with internal and external stakeholders to determine development and business needs • Coordinate with VA leadership, developers, and analysts to provide insight into business rules of the applications • Work with Engineers to debug and correct code errors • Create and maintain the formal design and interface control documentation as required • Requirements management and analysis using JIRA/DevOPS and other VA specified tools • Translate user requirements, into simplified, well-organized user stories accompanied by clearly defined acceptance criteria • Use business requirements to drive the design or review of test cases, process change requests, and help manage project scope, product acceptance, installation, and production deployment • Manages and tracks the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle; enforce and redefine, as necessary.
• Participate in the requirements definition process to better understand the customer needs • Create prototypes that demonstrate concepts during sprints • Ensure team follows established team-developed coding and software tools standards • Develop products in adherence to 508 regulations and standards • Analyze areas for process improvement and identify technical solutions • Demonstrated success as a developer with .
NET experience • Comfortability working with a team to formulate solutions to complex problems • Experience working with customers, users and project leads in analyzing, designing, implementing and supporting IT business applications and systems • Demonstrated experience managing and updating requirements documentation and ensure traceability • Agile software development lifecycle (experience building and managing user stories based on business, functional and technical requirements • Familiarity with IT within the VA or federal government environment [desired] • Experience testing within cloud systems (Azure) • Strong analytical capabilities and technical knowledge by providing supportable technical solutions Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Research, Mathematics, Computer Science, Cost Accounting, Business or related technical discipline (8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education) • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience • Experience working in VA or other Government agency [desired] • Ability to obtain a Government public trust clearance This posting is for prospective candidates only.
