SUMMARY We are looking for a talented Project Engineer to oversee and manage engineering projects from conception through completion.
The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring the timely and successful delivery of projects while adhering to quality standards, budget constraints, and client expectations.
The Project Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth execution of projects and maintaining strong relationships with clients.
RESPONSIBILITES Develop project scopes, objectives, and timelines in collaboration with clients and internal stakeholders.
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans, and reports.
Coordinate project activities, resources, and equipment to ensure project progress according to the plan.
Enable efficient development by creating and maintaining a streamlined process, capturing parallel designs and clear paths to closure with owners for each action item.
Collaborate and facilitate communication to meet aggressive cost, schedule, and quality goals.
Understand technical issues & complex design trade-offs.
Drive to closure by bringing together key stakeholders for decision-making to meet overall project objectives.
Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and facilitate conflict resolution within and between teams, focus on top-level objectives, and develop a better course of action.
Provide timely issue resolution and critical path management as top priorities shift.
Create and maintain detailed project schedules for key enclosure and mechanical components, respond quickly to changes.
Understand system-level part interactions and manage a plan to provide key combinations into reliability testing to validate system performance.
Coordinate cosmetic and functional partial unit builds for key reviews and early testing.
Offer multiple levels of status across a wide spectrum of individual contributors to executive management.
Planning and coordinating cross-functional team interactions to ensure critical path tasks are proactively managed to minimize conflicts in resource availability.
Lead multiple project development efforts and teams concurrently.
Organize and facilitate project team meetings related to Design Reviews, (DP)FMEA, Design for Excellence (DfX – Design for Manufacture, Design for Cost, Design for Quality).
Create Gate Review materials in accordance with FMA standards.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline.
2+ years’ of project engineering experience, 1+ years’ experience as a practicing engineer.
Prior experience in manufacturing a product with strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
Proven experience demonstrating detailed knowledge of product development cycles.
Strong background in cross functional teams interfacing with Mechanical, Software & Electrical Engineering/Design, Operations, and Vendors.
Well organized.
Candidate must have ability to address tactical issues in the short-term while maintaining long-term project plan.
Well skilled in setting up project schedules and work breakdown structures.
DESIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Experience in electro-mechanical systems.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Excellent communication, presentation, organizational and leadership skills.
Proficient with applied mathematical statistics, design, and business systems.
Strong interpersonal skills, oriented toward teamwork.
Ability to filter and distill relevant information for the right audience.
Self-motivated and proactive, demonstrating creative and critical thinking capabilities.
Understands and deals well with rapid development cycles; remains flexible and composed in the face of ambiguity.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally to support business needs (up to 10%).
Ability to work successfully in a multi-cultural, global business environment.
Ability to work collaboratively with virtual teams and processes.
