Position Summary:
Support Injection Molding Manager and Manufacturing floor to perform duties which include set up, changeover and maintaining molds.
Essential Job Functions:
Work from work orders, standard operating procedures and instructions:
Review production run with all shifts to determine unusual conditions, equipment functioning and production levels.
Monitor molding equipment and robotics to ensure quality standards met and production cycle time maintained.
Troubleshoot production or quality problems such as excess flash, discoloration or short fills, make necessary adjustments to materials or equipment settings and notify Team Leader of situation.
Perform changeovers and support setups: Insert changes, set programming to control robotics and set speeds.
Clean molds as needed.
Communicate with machine and mold maintenance departments daily to keep repairs and preventive maintenance up-to-date.
Fill out maintenance work orders to initiate necessary repairs.
Complete required production and inspection reports.
Follow safety rules and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition.
Ability to gather data, analyze and communicate with Management.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Proven experience as an Injection Molding Process Technician or in a similar role within the injection molding industry.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to apply injection molding principles to identify and resolve process-related issues.
Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on precision, accuracy, and quality.
Make improvements to molding process to reduce cycle times to the lowest time possible without sacrificing part quality.
Work with Production to improve mold change over times eliminating all waste during the internal and external change over elements.
Prepare and maintain molding process workbooks.
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent.
RJG or Equivalent training.
Knowledge/Experience
Use mathematics together with the analytical use of computerized programming.
Equivalent to 1 to 2 years applied trades training on a particular or specialized occupation, requiring knowledge of injection molding.
Experience with hand tools is required.
Skills
Proper set up of automated equipment programming.
Self-starter with strong interpersonal skills

Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds.
