Pioneer Engineering & Environmental Services is seeking a Field Laborer and Driller's Helper to work within our environmental and geotechnical groups in Chicago, IL.
Pioneer specializes in providing environmental investigation, engineering and remediation services, geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing services.
Compensation will be based on experience.
Job responsibilities and qualifications include the following:
*Responsibilities:*
· Help driller in operation of various track- and truck-mounted Geoprobe© drills using direct push, hollow-stem auger and mud-rotary drilling methods to collect subsurface soil and groundwater samples
· Maintain various drilling equipment and tooling and adhere to routine maintenance schedules
· Manage workload to meet production requirements
· Able to keep accurate drill logs and soil profiles
*Requirements:*
* Valid Driver’s License
* Willing to work outside in heat and cold
* On occasion, long hours and occasional weekends
* Heavy lifting at occasional times throughout the day
* A positive attitude and are a team player
* Occasional multi-day travel
