Production Operator 1st shift - 6:00am - 2:30pm Department: Production/Admin, Flavors Location: Carol Stream, IL Type: Full-Time Summary: The Production Operator will work and complete assignments as dictated by the production schedule.
The Production Operator – Spray Dry Area ensures that production of products meets or exceeds efficiency and company quality standards.
In addition, the Operator must follow our process and conforming to our GMP standards by managing Quality Systems and documents, in addition to performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Completion of work assigned in manufacturing products to ensure safety, quality and productivity.
Ensures that products on schedule and are produced to specification on blend sheet/work orders.
Sets up and performs light maintenance on all production machinery.
Confirms that work orders and quality procedures are followed Determines that all raw materials are on hand production before beginning a batch.
Works with Quality department to manage and determine the status of aged on hand raw materials.

P and maintain procedures and documentation for all Quality Systems in production.
Assist during BRC audit and customer audits as asked.
Assist in acquiring new manufacturing processes to improve production including integrating new production procedures.
Able to be cross- trained in other production departments and supervise as fill-in for vacations or vacancies.
Other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities Will assist in assigned production schedule and coordination of production on off shifts.

Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate all levels of personnel.

Education and/or Experience A high school diploma/GED or higher is required, 2 to 5 years manufacturing experience mentoring people and spray dry knowledge.
Language Skills Ability to read and write simple instructions in English, short correspondence and memos.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations and to other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to use a keyboard, calculator, and telephone.
Frequent sitting, talking, hearing, and occasionally stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift (50 lbs.
), and ability to adjust vision for close vision work.
Occasional exposure to airborne dust, high humidity, and extremes of hot and cold are possible.

Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
The employee is at times exposed to dusty conditions.
The employee is at times exposed to oils and liquids.
