Process Development Engineer

The Role: Our site in Aurora is seeking a Process Development Engineer to join our team.
Working closely with various business functions, this Engineer will own sustaining and quality assurance activities for commercial products and lead continuous improvement projects to drive process efficiency and reduce product variation.
What You’ll Do: Sustain productivity and quality levels of the manufacturing process.
Activities include dispositioning of non-conforming materials (raw materials, intermediates and finished goods), establish/review/update SPC/SQC control limits, reviewing and responding to trend reviews, maintaining FMEAs and Control Plans, and participating in customer quality and ISO audits.
Reduce variation in product and process parameters by identifying key contributors to variation and implementing effective control systems and enhanced manufacturing processes.
Lead root cause investigations of manufacturing out-of-control conditions by troubleshooting equipment and processes, observing and performing experiments, locating the source of problems, and implementing permanent effective corrective actions.
Act as the equipment and process technical expert and provide training and certification to the Operation Associates.
Provide technical troubleshooting guidance to the Operation Associates, the Engineering Technicians, and the Maintenance Team.
Drive productivity in the manufacturing process by identifying opportunities and implementing solutions to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
Monitor and manage continuous improvement plans.
Lead Management of Change (MOC) process in the factory.
Develop and execute Design of Experiment (DOE) trials, manage new product scale-ups, and lead new equipment installations & qualifications as dictated by business needs.
Manage the development of processing equipment operating programs and parameters, including CNCs and PLCs.
Lead machine breakdown resolution by providing guidance and hands-on assistance to remedy and correct issues.
Manage external repair resources as needed for technical repairs.
Assist in improving the preventative and predictive maintenance program to optimize machine and equipment uptime for production.
Stablish and track the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and Overall Operations Effectiveness (OOE) metrics.
Protect the intellectual property of new and existing products and technologies.
Manage review/update of functional area BOMs, routings, workcenters through ERP.
Participate as a global engineering team member to transfer best practices across sites and unit operations.
Identify and implement improvements in environmental, health, and safety areas.
Comply with Entegris’ health, safety, and environmental policies.
What We Seek: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or electronic engineering or a related technical field is required.
5 – 10 years of engineering experience; experience in manufacturing or semiconductor/polymer processing industry preferred.
Knowledge of CNC recipe (G-code / M-code) creation and modification is required.
Outstanding Candidates Will Have: 3 to 5+ years of experience with CNC equipment and/or other manufacturing equipment with programmable user interfaces is preferred.
COBOTS, Robotic automation knowledge is a plus.
Project management experience is a plus.
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred.
Experience with statistical software is required; experience with Minitab and/or JMP preferred.
