*Role description: *
The Plant Human Resources (HR) Manager is responsible for the administration and delivery of the full spectrum of human resource programs and labor relations for a plant of approximately 350 employees.
*Responsibilities: * * Identify and execute continuous improvement opportunities related to the HR function * Organize, implement, and administer personnel and labor contracts, projects, and other initiatives that align with company goals and objectives * Lead HR activities to ensure legal compliance, fairness, and consistency in areas of employment planning and staffing: compensation, affirmative action, benefits administration, labor and employee relations, training, performance management, organizational development, workforce communications, safety, and benefits * Provide direction and counseling to managers and employees in areas associated with HR for the corporate office * Effectively administer programs following company policies and procedures including but not limited to Equal Employment Opportunity, Affirmative Action compliance, and OSHA * Manage and monitor proper adherence to policies and procedures, guidelines, and documentation on all disciplinary action issues, promotions, transfers, and terminations * Provide leadership and guidance to employees, peers, and management on workforce goals and objectives * Provide clear, effective, timely, and constructive feedback as required * Participate in the investigation and resolution of ongoing employee relation problems, anticipate problems, recommend, and initiate steps for corrective action * Perform administrative activities necessary for the effective management of HR including budget control, salaried administration, and measuring work performance within the department * Comply with environmental and food safety standards as outlined in plant policies or programs within the department *Minimum skills / qualifications: * * High school diploma or equivalent * Five (5) years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment with union and safety exposure * Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment and have experience dealing with confidential matters * Proficient organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and written/oral communication skills * Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite * Ability to travel up to 5% *Preferred skills / qualifications: * * Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or a related discipline * Prior experience in a supervisory role * Prior experience dealing with union grievances and/or arbitrations * Prior experience with collective bargaining agreements * PHR or SPHR professional certification *About Ardagh Group* Ardagh Glass Packaging is a global leader in glass packaging solutions, producing packaging for the world’s leading brands.
