Responsible and accountable for the cost, quality, and manufacturability of new and existing product lines.
Tangent’s Manufacturing Engineers will be leading the initiative to ensure the successful and efficient production of our core products.
Role and Responsibilities
· In Fab and Assembly, work closely with New Product Development team to transition approved designs into mass manufacturing.
· In Extrusion, work closely with manufacturing, tooling and maintenance to ensure low cost, high quality production is continuously at the forefront
· Refine and scale the manufacturing process for our current and new products.
· Study production and machine requirements
· Develop and test effective automated and manual systems.
· Design and install equipment.
· Organize and manage manufacturing workflows and resources.
· Integrate disparate systems (e.
g.
equipment handling, transport)
· Optimize facility layouts, production lines, machine operations and network performance.
· Partner with a multi-disciplinary team in creating process flow diagrams, FMEA, following and recording the APQP steps and leading a successful PPAP run of new and existing products.
· Identify wastes between current and ideal manufacturing visions, with the goal of reducing costs and lead time of specific production lines.
· Plan, lead, & execute improvement projects, A3, Kaizens, & Six-Sigma activities.
· Research automation techniques to maximize the efficiency of production lines.
· Develop and maintain quality assurance programs, specifications, procedures and equipment to meet process specifications.
· Responsible for implementing the quality system procedures to ensure 100% FTT efficiency.
· Coordinate with extrusion partners to optimize material usage and reduce waste.
· Responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and implementing SPC data gathering and analysis processes, to help production team improve their reaction time to defects and problems.

Education and experience
· Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing or Industrial engineering or related field.
· 3-5 years experience
