The entry-level Paralegal will provide support to the leadership team around contract management activities and assist with matters surrounding entry-level compliance and industry law in support of the Feldco Compliance Department.

*Schedule & Hours:*
The schedule of hours for this position would be 40 hours per week.
The intended schedule would be 8am to 4:30pm or 8:30am to 5pm with a 30 minute lunch.
*Job Summary*:
We are seeking a motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and trustworthy Entry-level Paralegal to join our fast-growing organization.
You will be responsible for helping the Compliance Department protect our organization from risk during the contract origination, negotiation, and fulfillment processes and resolve outstanding legal matters with customers and vendors who violate contractual agreements with Feldco.
You will report to our Director of Corporate Development and frequently work with Feldco’s Senior Manager of Compliance and General Managers from Feldco’s 12 market teams.
The Entry-level Paralegal would work out of Feldco’s headquarters based in Des Plaines, IL.
While the primary focus of this role is on Feldco’s legal proceedings, this role will also be developed in other areas to positively impact the organization as a whole.
*Entry-level Paralegal Duties and Responsibilities:*
* Assist Feldco executive team in the drafting, review, and negotiation of various entry-level and employment contracts, providing recommendations as to whether documents are ready for execution.
* Manage legal collection efforts for customers who are in violation of their home improvement contracts with Feldco, collaborating with market teams to create timelines of relevant events within the fulfillment process.
* Coordinate with third-party attorneys as required to assist in fast resolution to outstanding legal issues facing Feldco.
* Support the Compliance Department by confirming compliance with lead-safe renovation practices as outlined by various regulatory authorities.
* Make independent decisions in accordance with established training materials, procedures, and guidelines.
* Identify potential legal issues facing Feldco and escalate to the appropriate member of the executive team.
* Assist in the organization of training sessions for Feldco employees on compliance and legal issues impacting market leadership teams
*Entry-level Paralegal Requirements and Qualifications:*
* High school graduate required (Bachelor’s degree, Paralegal Certificate, or business school courses are preferred).
* 1-3 years of paralegal experience, with experience preferred in the construction or home improvement industry.
* Must be a self-starter and good planner with ability to meet deadlines without exception.
* Solid knowledge of administrative procedures; strong verbal and written communications skills; excellent grammar and ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
* Unquestioned capability to maintain confidentiality; an intense customer service and people orientation, and the willingness to introduce creative ideas in pursuit of continuous improvement.
* Detail oriented and well organized and possess excellent communication skills and phone etiquette.
* Comfortable handling difficult customer situations while resolving outstanding legal matters facing Feldco.
* Must work well in an open, team-oriented environment, as well as work independently without much supervision.
* Must be open to developing their skillset in other areas outside of Felcco’s legal proceedings
