If you are looking to build a strong career, we have an opportunity for you! We are searching for a Senior Commercial Counsel to join our team located at our headquarters in Lake Forest, IL.
Your Role:
As a Senior Commercial Counsel, you be responsible for providing day-to-day guidance on legal issues and risk mitigation strategies for RCP.
This role will effectively make recommendations on direction and issue resolutions while supporting the Deputy General Counsel and General Counsel and assisting in the development and implementation of process improvements, policies, and procedures We embrace and accept individual experiences and backgrounds to achieve a diverse and inclusive workplace.
You will have the opportunity to:
Provide legal advice, guidance, and representation to RCP and its related entities with respect to business, advocacy, commercial, and compliance matters.
Manage legal staff and contractors.
Negotiate and oversee the negotiation drafting and review of a wide range of commercial and real estate agreements.
Support the General Counsel and Deputy General counsel on legal matters related to labor and employment, data privacy, legal compliance, and RCP’s international business.
Build partnerships with business stakeholders to drive brand and company strategy.
Conduct research regarding specific legal and regulatory issues.
Participate in the definition and development of corporate policies, procedures and programs and provide continuing counsel and guidance on legal matters.
Monitor and maintain current knowledge of current trends in relevant areas of law and pursue ongoing professional development to maintain current knowledge on best practices.
Ultimately, you will operate as a key contributor to the legal and business teams at RCP while advising business partners on a broad range of legal issues.

We need you to have:
JD - Appropriately licensed to practice law in Illinois.
At least 3-5 years’ legal experience.
Excellent speaking and writing skills, including the ability to clearly describe complex issues.
Ability to exercise judgment and diplomacy while addressing sensitive or challenging issues with internal or external stakeholders.
Ability to think creatively and strategically.
Icing on the cake:
Experience with real estate and contract drafting, review and negotiation.
