HeplerBroom LLC is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join our dedicated Medical Malpractice defense team in our Chicago, IL office.
The ideal candidate fit for this opportunity you will need to have:
Excellent organization, time management, attention to detail, and multi-tasking skills
The ability to anticipate needs and work both proactively and reactively in a fast-paced environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
The ability to quickly learn new technologies
Strong proofreading and editing skills
The ability to successfully prioritize multiple projects and meet internal and external deadlines
Primary responsibilities to include:
Reviewing and finalizing correspondence, reports, discovery, and pleadings
Electronic court filings
Tracking discovery and document production in written and expert discovery
Communicating with witnesses and experts and scheduling meetings and depositions
Reviewing client guidelines for billing purposes
Formatting general and reviewing pleadings, discovery, reports, and correspondence
Scanning, filing, and copying
Scheduling depositions and making travel arrangements
Qualifications:
Minimum 2+ years of experience as a legal secretary, medical malpractice defense litigation firm preferred
Must have prior experience with litigation processes
