Our Internship Program
Cboe interns work with a variety of staff across multiple departments and have the opportunity to put their skills to work in their field of interest, while learning about Exchange technology and operations through our robust Options Institute courses.
The three main foundational pillars of our internship program are: develop, educate and network.
We want to ensure each of our interns receive a real-world working experience that encourages academic, professional and personal growth.
Candidates should be versatile, eager and able to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive financial and technical environment.
Our internship program runs from June to August.
Legal Intern
The program is designed to engage you in day-to-day activities and projects contributing towards our Legal team and corporate goals.
The ideal Legal team intern candidate is a law school student with an outstanding record of academic achievement and an interest in the financial markets.
Responsibilities:
Assist and provide administrative support to Cboe attorneys with all facets of their daily responsibilities related to various financial products regulation, including securities, options, futures, and digital assets, and general corporate matters.
Assist in the preparation and submission of documents, such as proposed changes to exchange rules, to the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, and other regulators.
Assist in the preparation and filing of various corporate filings with government entities.
Conduct legal research on issues related to equities, options, futures, digital assets, and foreign exchange market structure and trading.
Requirements:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical and research skills
Highly organized and detail oriented
Possess sound professional judgment
Intuitive and practical understanding of and experience with requirements relating to confidential documents and information
Must be strong team player
At least one year of law school at an accredited institution
