Methode Electronics is a leading global supplier of custom-engineered solutions for user interface, LED lighting system, power distribution and sensor applications in the transportation, industrial equipment, cloud computing and medical device end markets.
Methode is seeking a Chief Compliance Officer who will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of compliance for our global manufacturing company.
Reporting directly to the General Counsel, this position will develop, implement, and monitor compliance programs and policies to ensure the company's adherence to relevant laws, regulations, ethical standards and contractual commitments.
The successful candidate will serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership and will be responsible for fostering a culture of compliance throughout the organization.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive compliance program that encompasses all aspects of the company's operations, including manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, sales, IT and finance
Conduct regular compliance risk assessments and develop appropriate mitigation strategies
Develop and implement policies and procedures that promote ethical conduct and reduce violations of laws and regulations
Design and deliver effective compliance training programs to educate employees at all levels of the organization
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Legal, Finance, Human Resources, IT and Operations, to ensure consistent compliance practices across the organization and geographic regions
Conduct internal reviews, assessments and investigations and monitor ongoing compliance activities to identify potential issues and areas for improvement
Establish and maintain effective multinational channels for reporting compliance concerns and facilitate the investigation of any reported violations
Regularly report to senior leadership and the Board of Directors on compliance initiatives, progress, and potential risks
Provide leadership for the corporate ethics and compliance program
Maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and industry associations, to stay informed about emerging compliance trends and requirements
Stay up to date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices, and proactively assess their impact on the company's operations
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, or a related field.
A Juris Doctor (JD) or Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred
10+ years of related experience, preferably working in a similar role for a global manufacturer or tier 1 automotive supplier
In-depth knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards, with a strong understanding of international compliance requirements including import/export controls
Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing effective compliance programs and policies
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify compliance risks and develop appropriate strategies for mitigation
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and build effective relationships
High level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism, with a commitment to promoting a culture of compliance
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve compliance goals
Professional certifications such as Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP)
Travel required both domestically and internationally up to 20%
