WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT Review chart to verify all services provided are accurately captured.
Review procedure codes and diagnosis codes for accuracy.
Audit documentation to confirm support for charges.
Make corrections as needed to ensure charges will process correctly.
Meet department goals and deadlines, which include charges complete for end of month closing.
Communicate electronically with the provider and/or staff for documentation or clarification to support codes.
Audit and analyze software system and charts to identify trends and issues.
Communicate these findings and concerns to the manager.
Notify manager of concern with incomplete charts.
