What you’ll do:
As a Compliance Manager at the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago (FHLBC) Enterprise Compliance Risk (ECR) team you’ll be a key second-line of defense leader, have the opportunity to lead a team of tenured FHLBC teammates, influence change by operationalizing compliance routines and processes, establish a robust effective challenge culture, and help drive our commitment to compliance excellence.

You’ll be expected to act as a change agent, take initiative, and exercise independent judgment in delivering practical, sustainable recommendations to enhance internal and regulatory compliance

Developing you team's compliance risk acumen to provide career growth and advancement opportunities.
Leading large projects with bank wide impact and significant executive exposure.
Owning and demystifying the Enterprise Issue Management process for business partners.
What you can expect:
Leadership and management of tenured FHLBC teammates, with an emphasis on coaching and development, enabling employees to realize their full potential, and advance within the organization.
Lead as a responsible change agent, garnering commitment from key stakeholders to implement, or enhance compliance strategies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and adherence
Oversight of both internal and external regulatory compliance, including the ability to measure and assess/test compliance risk, including oversight of the Enterprise Issue Management Program
Develop and deepen relationships with internal partners including: First-Line, Operational Risk, Audit, and Legal departments, drive timely identification and remediation of risk
Oversight, management, and reporting on effectiveness of Bank-wide compliance activities, with an emphasis on AML/BSA, and Governance Risk and Control inventories
Support regulatory/legal partners to respond to internal and external (e.
g.
FHFA, Legal, SOX, RMG teams, Audit) inquiries and requests for compliance related information.
Develop and deliver compliance training programs to educate employees on compliance matters and their roles in maintaining a compliant environment
What you’ll bring:
10+ years in Financial Services, mortgage experience is a plus
5+ years experience designing and implementing financial services compliance strategies
Strong people leadership and management skills
MS Office products (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)
Tableau preferred
Must be self-directed with high energy level
Executive presentation skills
Well organized and can ensure team meets high number of deadlines reliably
Strong, effective communication resulting in an understanding of the message from others
Experience managing and mentoring staff.
Strong problem solving and decision making abilities
Displays effective leadership (e.

empathy, initiative, coaching)
Influence, guide and credibly challenge stakeholders in relation to the operational risks
