Essential Job Functions The Data Analysis & Insight Group, which sits within the larger Business Development group at Kirkland, is one of the fastest-growing areas in the Firm.
The group's purpose is to contribute to bringing in new business by using data mining and analysis to identify insights and opportunities.
Pairing this information with insight and recommendations, the team equips partners with vital knowledge that helps drive new business initiatives forward at Kirkland.
The Data Analytics & Reporting Specialist - Litigation, Intellectual Property & Restructuring will be an important part of the Data Analysis & Insight Group.
This candidate will assist with Kirkland's newest data initiative to collect key metrics specific to global clients and litigation, IP, and restructuring matters.
This individual will work on a team and coordinate closely with senior partners, the Experience Management and development groups within Business Development, KM partners, the Risk group, the IT data group, and Finance to categorize matters through a system of tags for internal reporting.
Essential Functions: (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessary.
) Review and research litigation, IP, and restructuring matters as they are opened, and oversee tagging choices assigned during the matter open process.
Audit all data tags on a quarterly basis to ensure accuracy throughout the lifecycle of a matter and maintain a real-time view of all Kirkland litigation, IP, and restructuring matters.
Respond to data requests for internal metrics across all three practice areas.
Coordinate closely with the Marketing Experience Management team to ensure that the data tagging approach remains consistent with their data collection process and complements their efforts.
Maintain litigation, IP, and restructuring data definitions and all related materials associated with this data initiative.
Work directly with senior partners and communicate changes identified during tagging research that affect client group designations to both the Risk and Finance groups.
Maintain administrative documentation for projects.
Collaborate with the Director of Data Analysis & Insight, senior partners, and KM partners to review and refresh all data tags, ensuring they meet expectations and effectively "tell a story" about Kirkland matters in real time.
Qualifications & Requirements Education, Work Experience, Skills: Bachelor's degree required; JD preferred.
Ability to problem-solve and communicate ideas clearly through oral and written communication.
Understanding of how matters begin, progress, and conclude.
Willingness to learn how to translate often complicated requests into data collections in order to provide key data reports.
