Essential Job Functions Kirkland & Ellis LLP is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual for the role of Attorney Licensure Compliance Manager.
This full-time position in the Risk Management Compliance Department leads the Firm with U.
S.
bar admissions compliance.
The Attorney Licensure Compliance Manager is in a highly visible role and interacts with all administrative departments, particularly Legal Recruiting, Human Resources, Internal Audit, Employee Relations and all attorneys at the Firm.
The successful candidate will be a natural leader with a prior background in risk management and compliance and experience with laws and regulations.
The candidate will be able to work both independently and collaboratively, as well as manage strict deadlines for the team.
Qualified candidates will have excellent organizational and communication skills, an analytical mindset, and be a strong leader.
This position requires the highest level of attention to detail, an ability to handle multiple tasks, and a proficiency with Word, Excel, and the internet.
Must also be skilled at writing and proofreading.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS As a member of the Risk Management Compliance team, the Attorney Licensing Compliance Manager will be leading the Firm's U.
S.
bar admissions compliance program, which includes all U.
S.
state licensure and federal admissions.
Continue to build and lead licensure program at the firm and provide continuous improvements, enhancements and strategic initiatives.
Lead and manage attorney licensing team Support the maintain the firm's bar admissions data and records, so it is accurate and current for each attorney.
Monitor bar admissions activity for laterals, transfers, incoming associates and permanent remote attorneys, who are seeking admission in a jurisdiction.
Lead confirmation and responses to bar verification requests by conducting searches for attorneys barred in specific jurisdictions.
Facilitate payments on behalf of the firm to various bar jurisdictions for annual bar renewals Act as a firm administrator to certain bars to facilitate registrations, compliance activities and firm payments.
Proactively respond to firm-wide inquiries through a shared email inbox and respond accurately and in a timely manner to requests.
Understand and ensure adherence with the firm's various bar admission policies and own updates to these policies as the business and requirements evolves.
Proficiency in general data management and develop and maintain metrics and/or dashboard for bar admissions.
Lead communications, develop training, resources and materials around bar admissions compliance, expectations and deadlines.
Support execution of compliance improvement including gaps, streamline processes and provide insight into workflow improvements.
Properly escalate bar admissions-related issues properly to Associate Director, Risk Management Compliance.
Special projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements Education, Work Experience, Skills Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of work experience is required J.
D.
preferred.
Paralegal, regulatory or bar admissions experience is a plus.
Ability to assist the Risk Management Compliance Manager in coordinating assignments for the team Ability to work independently and collaboratively Able to manage and meet strict deadlines Exhibit superior organizational skills Possess excellent communication skills, especially in writing, customer service, and proofreading Technologies/Software Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and the internet.
