PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Associate General Counsel - Compliance & Ethics will lead Exelon's Compliance & Ethics investigation program, including supervising a team of experienced and diverse team of corporate investigators.
The position will report to the company's Chief Compliance & Ethics Officer.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Oversee all corporate investigations of potential Code of Business Conduct and other company policy violations; oversee investigation assignments and investigative plans, provide advice on investigative techniques and best practices, review investigative findings and analysis, and participate in the corrective action process; collaborate with Internal Audit and business teams on opportunities to improve internal controls based on investigative findings
· Lead complex and significant corporate investigations
· Develop and provide formal and informal training related to investigative best practices and other topics related to compliance and ethics
· Analyze data related to compliance and ethics investigations and regularly present information related to investigative data and trends to company leadership
· Provide clear and succinct oral and written guidance on compliance and ethics matters to employees at all levels of the company
· Perform other compliance and ethics related projects and duties as assigned
JOB SCOPE
Leads Exelon's corporate investigations program and supervises a team of attorney and non-attorney investigators
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· An LLB or JD from an accredited law school
· Admitted to practice law in a relevant jurisdiction
· At least 12 years of relevant experience
· Deep investigations experience, including experience leading complex financial or other data-intensive investigations
· Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a diverse team of experienced professionals and collaborate effectively with leaders in other parts of the organization
· Superior judgment; Excellent analytical abilities and oral and written communication skills
· Ability to be highly responsive and organized while supervising a high volume of challenging and sensitive matters
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Prior litigation experience
· Prior government enforcement investigations experience
