POSITION PURPOSE:
Greets, prepares, services, and takes guests’ orders for beverages and/or food in a friendly, courteous, professional and timely manner to ensure total guest satisfaction.
Upsells additional items to enhance profitability.
Enters orders into a computerized system and settle check(s) upon completion of order.
Performs general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Average Percent of Time 30% Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promotes and documents orders.
Makes and/or present food and drinks using standard ingredient(s)/recipes and practicing prudent portion control.
20% Inputs orders into a register at the point of sale and creates a check for each guest, maintaining accountability for all food and beverages served.
Receives cash from guests, makes any change needed, verifies validity of charges, records charges, and ensures vouchers are properly executed, in order to balance all transactions.
20% Visually inspects, selects, and uses only the freshest food/beverage products of the highest standard in the preparation, presentation, and service of all menu items.
10% Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the coffee bar on a daily basis.
This includes requisitioning, stocking, rotating all products as needed and picking up items from the designated area.
10% Performs all clean up duties such as sweeping and mopping floors, cleans up, wipes down tables and chairs including the setup and breakdown of chair and tables.
Cleans and dries floors to prevent slip/fall accidents or injuries.
Removes trash from all containers taking it to the dumpster.
Transports all dirty serviceware to dishwashing area for proper cleaning.
5% Responds to and resolves guest complaints in a positive and tactful manner.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.
• Attend mandatory meetings.
• Keeps work area clean and organized.
• Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.

Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service.
Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes.
Basic English language writing skills necessary for completion of requisitions, balance sheets and vouchers.
Sufficient manual dexterity in hands in order to use a knife, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reaches overhead to retrieve stock.
Ability to read, speak and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests and take orders.
Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
Ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale procedures to pre-check an order and close out a check.
Ability to work and stand in a confined space for long periods of time.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS EDUCATION High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
EXPERIENCE Previous food service experience required.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES Food Service Sanitation certification.
Alcohol Server Permit (if required).
GROOMING All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.
Specific uniform guidelines and/or required articles of clothing will be explained to you as a part of the orientation process.
