We are excited to announce we will be expanding those services to include a new ASC in Downtown Chicago!
We are searching for an experienced full-time OR Surgical Tech to support our brand-new ASC in Downtown River North!
The OR Surgical Tech assists surgeons during surgical procedures by anticipating surgeon needs to make sure the procedure is executed as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
They prepare and organize the operating room, clean and sterilize equipment/instruments and maintains a sterile field during surgical procedures in the operating room.
Responsibilities of the OR Technician include:
Prepare and organize the operating room equipment, instruments and supplied as required for various surgical procedures
Anticipate surgeon and patient needs during procedures
Follows relevant safety and sanitation guidelines
Inspect, replace, clean and sterilize medical instruments
Counts sponges, needles and instruments, per policy.
Assures proper handling of contaminated material
Assists in the cleaning and preparation of the OR between procedures
Participates in stocking and restocking supplies
Participates in orientation and education of all operating room staff on an ongoing basis
Assists with the safe moving, transporting and positioning of patients
FCI requires all applicants to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 before commencing employment.
New hires will be required to furnish proof of full vaccination prior to their start date.
There may be alternative for an approved exemption based on bona fide medical or religious grounds.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Graduation from a Surgical Technology Program
Prior experience in an OR/Ambulatory Surgical setting
BLS Required
Professionalism and strong customer service skills a must!
Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
