Chicago area restaurant, with an emphasis on scratch-cooking and modern German cuisine, is looking for a line cook.
Job Summary:
Responsible for setting up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies.
Preparing food for service (e.
g.
chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces), cooking menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff and ensuring that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion.
Additional responsibilities include cleaning up station and taking care of leftover food, stocking inventory appropriately and complyingwith sanitation regulations and safety standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
Proven cooking experience.
Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
Familiar with industry’s best practices.
2+ year experience and/or culinary education equivalent.
Compensation: Hourly based on experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.
