ROLE SUMMARY The Form and Fill Operator Lead will observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity standards of filled or packaged products.
This position will help lead a team of employees within the department and will communicate objectives, goals, and deadlines to the team.
The role will provide help to management, keep management updated on team overall performance, and will communicate deviations.
Lead operators are responsible for following specifications; maintain 5s, paperwork, general manufacturing practices (GMPs), sanitations, safety, and efficiency reporting while keeping an accurate inventory.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Take lead on all change overs and setups in the scheduled timeframes and provide direction to team while changing over (disassembling, reassembling, and/or cleaning) Capable of multitasking and assisting other operators covering up to nine work centers Discover training needs within the group, provide training while motivating team members Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture Maintain accurate records of quality control checks, production numbers, and/or waste Document all SSOP, CCP, IPISÂ etc.
to support documentation Assist other associates when requested and oversee work for quality and guideline compliance Understand production schedules, production computer systems, and batch order instructions Report food, employee safety, and quality issues to supervisor Meet/exceed efficiencies while communicating inefficiencies (down time) Work effectively and efficiently with teammates to package products Monitor packaging machines during packaging process to identify and correct malfunctions Adjust machine components, film tension, and pressure according to size or processing former Stop/reset machines when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, and report malfunctions Regulate machine flow, speed, and temperature Work with a variety of equipment, while keeping area clean, organized, and free of clutter Perform metal detector verification to ensure product is free of metal Complete accurate and legible paperwork including downtime, machine log, and batch orders Report any safety matters or malfunctions to the department lead or Supervisor.
Perform all job functions within required General Manufacturing Practices (GMP's).
Understand and use production standards and specifications Work with maintenance to help troubleshoot machine problems Verify product meets quality standards, while counting and recording finished and rejected packaged items Clean, oil, and make minor adjustments or repairs to machinery and equipment, such as opening valves or setting guides.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Must wear proper personal protective equipment including uniform, face mask, hair net, latex gloves, bump cap, earplugs, and safety shoes Will be standing on concrete, stair climbing, bending, stooping, twisting, and turning for a full eight-hour shift Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds Required to work weekends during peak season and/or overtime when needed KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS 1+ years of packaging/warehouse operator experience preferred High school diploma, GED or equivalent education required Demonstrate cooperative behavior with co-workers, supervisors, and managers Basic math, computer skills, and problem solving skills Good communication skills with the ability work in a fast paced environment.
